Drake has officially released “Fomo,” a visual project he calls a “not so short film,” after weeks of teasers. The Canadian rap superstar dropped it on September 15, 2026, stepping away from the usual album rollout. Instead of a standard body of work, Fomo is built around the idea of making the most of one summer.
The project touches on friendship, human connection, vulnerability, taking risks, and the fear of missing out on important moments. Drake described the work as “self-funded surrealism,” which gives it a personal and unconventional feel. “Fomo” was directed by Theo Skudra, Liam Macrae, and Jake Schreier. He also unveiled another new song with Toliver as well as one with Yeat.
Drake’s catalogue moves across rap, R&B, and pop, so this pivot fits his range. He founded OVO Sound, DreamCrew, and the fragrance house Better World. In 2026, he released his ninth, tenth, and eleventh studio albums at once: Iceman, Maid of Honour, and Habibti. That output shows how far he is willing to push a release cycle.
Fomo feels less like a single and more like a marker of where Drake stands now.
