Zinoleesky slides in with his smooth, hook-heavy style while Ayo Maff holds his end with that street-pop delivery fans already know. One side comes gritty, the other polished Afropop. The song sits somewhere between both, and the contrast works.
Ayo Maff, born Ayorinde Mafoluku Ayodele, has been building steadily since breaking through with “Ya Man.” He also delivered the MAFFIAN EP and the project Prince Of The Street. That run explains why so many listeners had been waiting on this one.
It makes sense that he chose Zinoleesky for this. Both artists trade in melody, but they arrive at it differently. The pairing gives the malaria metaphor more room to breathe.
