Priesst slides into a softer lane on a new record called “Closure,” and the shift suits him well. The Nigerian singer and songwriter trades his usual energy for something moodier here.
The song also carries the fuller title “I Need Closure.” It sits between street-pop and Afro-fusion, built slow and kept intimate. Priesst sings with his guard down about wanting answers instead of chasing a club moment.
He hails from Ogun State and grew up the last child in a family of six. His father is a pastor, and he is currently schooling. In 2025 he released his first major project, “KURIMA,” which carried tracks like “HALLELUJAH,” “ON GUARD,” “100 BILLI,” and “FAMILY.”
He has also worked with Falz and Kurdi Klymax on “Church Mind,” and appeared alongside Fazil and Samad on “Lead Born Winner.”
That emotional turn is the interesting part. For an artist still rising, choosing a record about resolution rather than a club moment says plenty about his headspace. The repeated plea anchors the track, and his vocal carries the weight without overdoing it. It suits him.
