Fally Ipupa keeps his catalogue moving with “Alikey,” a record that really lets his voice carry the weight. The Congolese star pulled this one from XX : Délirium, the 51-track project that arrived on Friday 18th September. It sits inside the third section of that body of work.
Elektra France handled the release, with Warner Music France holding the licence. That label setup matters, because it puts his music in front of listeners far beyond Kinshasa. The arrangement stays easy and unhurried here.
He does not crowd the song. His tenor does the heavy lifting instead, stretching and bending around the melody. Anyone who grew up on classic rumba will recognise the instinct immediately.
There is a reason he still gets called the Prince of Rumba. Few artists in the genre have held this kind of run for this long. Besides the XX project, his older albums like Tokooos II continue pulling new ears.
