DaniLeigh and Olamide link up on a fresh new record called “Goosebumps,” a slow-burning single built for quiet evenings.
The American singer and dancer announced the track as a joint release with the Nigerian hip-hop heavyweight. Both artists list it as their own single, so it is not a loose feature tucked inside somebody else’s album.
The pairing is the interesting part. DaniLeigh comes from an R&B lane, with dancing and choreography running through everything she does. Olamide brings that streetwise African flavour that has kept him relevant for over a decade. Put those two worlds in one room and you get something that sits between Afrobeats, R&B and melodic hip-hop.
Mood-wise, “Goosebumps” is not a loud record, and that is the point. It leans on melody, with both artists trading their styles over a smooth backdrop. Besides, it works better when you are winding down than when you are turning up.
DaniLeigh has moved across R&B, hip-hop and dance since The Plan and MOVIE, while Olamide’s run at the top of Nigerian music stretches past a decade. So this crossover feels less like a gimmick and more like two catalogues finally meeting.
