Fido keeps his current run of releases moving with a soft Afrobeats record called “For Me.”
The Nigerian singer and songwriter stays mid-tempo here, letting melody carry the weight instead of an aggressive bounce. “For Me” arrives as a single, and it follows other recent drops from him. Friends With Benefits (F.W.B) and Sure For Me are both already out. No feature appears on this one. No producer or writing credit is attached either.
Fido was born Awosika Olayemi Josiah in Matogun, Ogun State. His passion for music started in his local church choir. He later put out the Olayemi EP, a project with eight tracks. Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi also featured him on a debut EP. So the groundwork was laid long before this single.
The song centres on affection and attraction. He sings about a woman who holds a special place in his heart. His delivery stays relaxed throughout, while the production sits underneath as a smooth backdrop. It is melodic storytelling more than anything else. This is Afrobeats built for quiet listening, not the dancefloor.
