Lovn keeps building on his SoundBender run with “KONSE,” a solo cut sitting fifth on his debut project. The nine-track body of work, “SOUNDBENDER,” carries the Mavin artist’s evolving Afrofusion sound across a full stretch of material.
Where other songs on the project lean into romance and personal boundaries, “KONSE” turns toward everyday realities instead. Happiness, money, survival, and personal aspirations all get space here. That shift keeps the debut from feeling one-note, because the mood changes without breaking the sonic thread.
Born Akinloye Charles Temidayo, Lovn signed to Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records after releasing “This Is LOVN,” a five-track EP that introduced his style-bending approach. His roots in fuji and apala still shape how he bends Afrobeat textures, and that blend has followed him through every release since.
On “KONSE,” the production leaves room for his voice rather than crowding it. The groove moves at a mid-tempo pace, so the writing carries the weight. It also sits well as track five, giving “SOUNDBENDER” a different texture right before the back half.
