Tml Vibez keeps his diary series moving with “Gentleman,” a solo cut sitting sixth on his new body of work. The Nigerian street-hop singer and songwriter released the record as part of A Street Kid’s Diary (Disc 2), a 16-track project that carries the next chapter of his story.

No featured artist appears here, so the spotlight stays entirely on him. That choice matters because the tape has collaborative moments dotted around it. “Gentleman” hands the whole runtime to one voice, one pen and one perspective. The song is filed under Afrosounds, and the arrangement follows that lane.

He records through Vibez Inc., the imprint run by Seyi Vibez and Dapper Music. Before this, he put out a debut EP called “Timileyin” and built a following around his street-hop sound. Wizkid sits among the artists he grew up listening to.

A solo slot on a long tape says something about where an artist stands with his own camp. Also, it gives listeners a clean look at his writing without a guest carrying half the weight. Afrosounds rewards that kind of space.
