ShakaMan YKTV links with Lowbass Djy, Royal MusiQ, Ag’zo and Djy Mash SA on “Xigubu.”

The record is built on Tsonga rhythmic influence, paired with the log drums Amapiano fans know well. Five artists share the credit here. So the production carries several hands at once. “Xigubu” runs just under six minutes, giving each contributor room to work. It landed across digital platforms as a single.

ShakaMan YKTV has stayed busy beyond this one. His recent singles include “Drum Lungisa,” “Naye Wave” and “Iyala.” He also worked with Retha RSA and Dudu RSA on “2000.” Besides that, he linked with Dj Stokie on “Sounds of Soweto.” His earlier projects, “New Age Kings” and “2 Souls (The Prequel),” show how far his range stretches.

Pulling in Ag’zo and Djy Mash SA makes sense for a track this rhythmic. Amapiano crowds respond to drum patterns that shift. However, the Tsonga element gives this one a different flavour. It suits a late-night drive or a packed venue.
