Tobe Nwigwe links with Lagos highlife duo The Cavemen on a new record called “Chop.” The track lands on his album “The Bridge,” which pulls sounds from Houston, Lagos and London into one place. So this pairing fits the concept instead of sitting outside it.
“Chop” is the second track on the album, following “CHINEKE” with Busta Rhymes. No producer or writing credits were shared, though, so the details stop there. The Bridge arrives on October 9, 2026.
Nwigwe, born Tobechukwu Dubem Nwigwe, built his name through weekly releases and sharp visuals. He also runs his own imprint, Tobe Nwigwe LLC. The Cavemen, meanwhile, carry the highlife banner for a new generation.
Hip-hop and highlife have crossed paths before, but rarely this directly. The record works because neither side softens its identity. That meeting point is the whole appeal.
