Blaqbonez and Ruger link up on a fresh new record called “Justina,” a rap and Afrobeats crossover. The pairing puts two very different Nigerian voices on one track, and that contrast carries the whole thing. Blaqbonez handles the rap side while Ruger brings his vocals. It is the kind of blend that has become common in the scene lately.

“Justina” is a single, and it belongs to Blaqbonez’s album NOMADINHO: 4TH PRIME. Production credits go to Spykida, JayPoppin, Johnson IP and MoRin. So this one arrives with a full team behind it, which says something about how much weight sits on the record.

Blaqbonez, born Emeka Akumefule, is signed to Chocolate City. He hails from Imo state and started writing bars at thirteen. Ruger, meanwhile, has built his name on expressive vocals and a sound of his own.

The decision to pair them is interesting. Rap verses sitting next to catchy singing can go either way. Yet both artists get room here instead of fighting for the same space.
