Blaqbonez keeps adding to a catalogue that never sits still, and his new record “I Love This” brings Igwe Aka along. The track lands on NOMADINHO: 4TH PRIME, a Chocolate City Music project that also carries his recent album run.
Production is the first thing you notice here. The guitar line does most of the talking, while the drums stay loose underneath it. Blaqbonez rides that pocket instead of fighting it, and Igwe Aka slides in without breaking the mood.
For anyone new to him, Blaqbonez is Emeka Akumefule, a rapper from Imo State who started writing bars at thirteen. He signed with Chocolate City and built his name on projects like Bad Boy Blaq, Sex Over Love, and Young Preacher. He has spent years calling himself the best rapper in Africa, and he usually says it with a grin.
Choosing a guitar-led backdrop makes sense for him right now. He has already proven he can rap over anything, so a warmer, slower groove lets the writing breathe. Igwe Aka fits that space well too, because the two voices trade off instead of competing.
