LaCabra and Big Zulu link up on “Ngakthanda,” a meeting of two very different South African rap voices. The pairing is the draw here. It connects the rising Qwellers movement with one of the country’s respected hip-hop names.

Both artists have been busy. LaCabra kept building momentum around his solo album MR BULLY, while Big Zulu also released his studio project Umkhulu. So this collaboration lands right in the middle of a strong run for each of them.

LaCabra brings the fast-paced delivery and energetic Zulu lyricism tied to his work in the Braamfontein Qwellers scene. Big Zulu answers with a deeper, more measured vocal approach. The contrast works because each rapper stays in his own lane.

The title translates from isiZulu as “I loved you,” so a passionate theme runs underneath the back and forth. Modern urban percussion carries the track, while the lyricism stays expressive throughout.
