Pasuma keeps his Fuji foundation moving with another new record for his audience, “Jaye.”

The track sits on his project Fuji Afro. Street-pop producer 2T UponDeeBeatz handled the boards here. He shapes a contemporary feel around the record. Yet Pasuma’s Fuji influence stays right at the centre of things. That push and pull is the interesting part.

Fuji has always moved with the times. Pasuma carries a long catalogue behind him as a singer and songwriter. So this song adds another entry to that run. The album itself is built around the link between traditional heritage and the sounds dominating Nigerian music now.

Because of that, “Jaye” fits neatly into an ongoing conversation. Fuji keeps meeting modern production, and this record joins that exchange. It does not abandon the root. Instead, it lets the genre breathe inside a newer frame.
