Woza Bakzin and GoldMax continue their Gqom run with “Isgxivizo,” the fourth track on their collaborative album, Gqom In Black.
The record arrived through Afrotainment and brings Naitor and Assiye Bongzin back for their second straight appearance on the project. They previously linked up on “Umfequzo,” and their vocal chemistry again sits right on top of the production.
What carries this one is the arrangement. Deep bass and heavy kicks do most of the work, while sharp percussion and a steady electronic groove keep things tense. The production stays fairly minimal, which lets the drums breathe and gives the whole thing a dark, intense feel built for the dancefloor.
At 5 minutes and 12 seconds, the track holds its momentum without dragging. It pushes the raw sound established earlier on Gqom In Black and shows how locked in these producers are with their featured artists.
