Singer, Davido charges Osun incumbent Governor, Oyetola to congratulate his uncle, the Osun governor-elect, Adeleke

Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has urged the incumbent Governor of Osun State, Adegboyega Oyetola, to congratulate Ademola Adeleke, the Governor-elect of the state.

Recall that Senator Adeleke of the People’s Democratic Party thrashed Oyetola, the standard bearer of All Progressive Congress, at Osun’s governorship election which was held in July.

According to the total votes recorded by the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), the PDP bagged victory in 17 of the 30 Local Government Areas of the state, while the APC won the remaining 13.

Oyetola has, however, contested the results, asking an Election Petition Tribunal in Osogbo to nullify the polls.

In his petition, the Governor argued that the election was fraught with irregularities.

He also said that Adeleke ought not to have been declared winner, as he was not qualified to have contested the election in the first place, having submitted a forged certificates to the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Davido, who is a nephew to Adeleke, has, however, called on the governor to congratulate his uncle on the victory.

In his Saturday tweet, the DMW honcho charged Oyetola that he has to be at peace with the Governor-elect for peace to reign.

In his words, he wrote:

“Your excellency sir, @GboyegaOyetola, when will you congratulate the incoming governor of your state, @AAdeleke_01?

Referencing the controversial 2018 governorship election which held in the state, the singer continued, “In 2018, my uncle congratulated you even though it was stolen. Do the right thing baba, one love.”
