Kaestyle handles both the mic and the boards on his new record “Misplaced Priorities,” a smooth and reflective number.

The song sits as the fourth track on his debut album, “Stylish,” a 15-track body of work put out through KeyQaad. Because he writes, sings and produces himself, the arrangement is very much his own handiwork. The groove stays relaxed rather than loud, so the melody breathes while his pen carries the weight. Nothing feels rushed or crowded here.

He is originally from Port Harcourt and studied music at the University of Port Harcourt. Along the way he has worked with names like Ajebo Hustlers, Dandizzy and PsychoYP. That background shapes the alternative R&B lane he occupies now.

Placing this one at number four on the tracklist feels deliberate. It gives the album a central moment to slow down.
