BNXN adds another Afrobeats record to his catalogue with “If You Like,” a melodic songwriting showcase from the singer. The Nigerian singer and songwriter, born Daniel Etiese Benson, placed the track on his six-track EP “Still In Charge.”

The project stays tight rather than dragging. “If You Like” follows that same approach, because there is no overcomplicated arrangement here. The rhythm section holds a groove while his delivery carries the weight, and the writing shapes the mood throughout.

He sounds relaxed in his element. The melody moves at an easy-going pace, yet nothing feels forced. For an artist raised on smooth, Afro-fusion-leaning records, this one plays like a natural continuation. Besides, his catalogue already includes “Sincerely, Benson” and the joint EP “RnB” with Ruger.

His demand remains steady too. The EP “Still In Charge” also carries “Eja Meja” with Asake, plus “Shamaya” alongside FOLA, so the features spread across the tracklist.

That choice makes sense for him. Leading with writing rather than a loud guest spot keeps the focus on the singer, and it opens space for listeners who came for melody. Still, the Asake pairing will pull its own crowd.
