Nigerian producer and recording artist Rvmen takes a new turn with a single titled “Amu n’efe.”

The record blends indigenous Igbo elements with the atmospheric energy of Phonk, and it arrives as a three-song single. Rvmen handles both production and vocals here. Abdulrahman Alarape is credited as composer and drummer, while Alte Crate carries the release.

Rather than ride the usual Afrobeats wave, he goes experimental. The Igbo words and Phonk textures sit together deliberately, not forced. His voice rides the beat with restraint, letting the production breathe instead of crowding it. That choice matters, because Phonk can easily swallow a vocalist who does too much.

He is a producer first, so the arrangement carries weight. Still, the vocal performance gives it a face. Besides, his growing catalogue includes “DANCE THE NiGHT AWAY” and “GehGeh Wisdom II.”

This is the kind of record that speaks to where young Nigerian creators are heading. Digital tools have made it easier for emerging artists to test genres outside the regular classifications. Rvmen is clearly taking that freedom seriously.
