Busta 929 and Mzu M link up on a warm new record called “Mmapula,” a love song built on Amapiano rhythm. The track appears on Busta 929’s Undisputed, Vol. 2 album and arrived on July 30, 2021. It also came out under Thupa Industry and Umsebenzi Wethu Records.
What makes the writing interesting is how the romantic theme carries the song. Mzu M’s vocal sits inside the melody rather than over it. The affection in the delivery feels like the point of the record, not a decoration.
Production-wise, the groove runs at a steady 114 BPM. Percussion keeps things moving, while the melodic arrangement stays soft around the edges. At six minutes and eighteen seconds, the song gets room to breathe. An official music video followed in late 2021, adding a visual side to the collaboration.
So the writing lands where it should. “Mmapula” treats romance as something steady and unhurried, and the extended runtime lets that mood build. Busta 929 gives Mzu M space, and Mzu M uses it well. Have you sat with “Mmapula” yet? Tell us your verdict in the comments.
