Chxrry and Rema link up on a fresh new record called “Big Shot,” a crossover cut built for late-night listening. The song sits right where contemporary R&B, pop and Afrobeats meet, so it never forces a hard stop between moods.
It arrives as one of the fresh additions to the deluxe edition of Chxrry’s debut studio album, U, Me & My Ego (Deluxe). That expanded project came through XO Records and Republic Records, and it carries four extra tracks. “Big Shot” has also been picked as the focus single.
What makes the pairing work is the contrast. Chxrry comes from the R&B and pop side, while Rema brings his familiar Afrobeats delivery. Yet the two styles sit side by side here, with Rema’s contribution complementing Chxrry’s own performance rather than crowding it.
For listeners who like their playlists to move between contemporary R&B, pop and Afrobeats without a hard stop, this one fits that mood. It is a crossover record built for a smooth listen rather than a loud one.
