Woza Bakzin and GoldMax bring Music Kid into the fold on “Halmat,” the second track from their Gqom In Black album.
The record officially dropped through Afrotainment, following the project’s powerful opener “Xhoshi Ikati.”
Music Kid’s Zulu vocal delivery sits right at the center of this one. He works in short phrases and chopped vocal elements that lock into the beat rather than floating over it. The approach gives “Halmat” a human presence without softening the raw Durban sound underneath. Heavy kicks, rolling drums, and deep bass carry the energy while his voice cuts through at just the right moments.
The production favors rhythm and movement over soft melodies, which makes this track feel built for the club. Running at 4 minutes and 43 seconds, it keeps the momentum steady after the album opener. Music Kid’s contribution proves he understands how to ride a Gqom groove without overpowering the instrumental.
