Woza Bakzin and GoldMax connect on “Ispikili,” a raw instrumental cut from their collaborative album Gqom In Black (GIB).
Dropped through Afrotainment, the track sits as the fifth project on the duo’s joint effort. With no guest vocals, the two producers let their beat work lead the conversation. The percussion repeats with that hypnotic drive Gqom heads have come to expect, while the bass keeps everything locked to the floor.
The arrangement leaves real space for the drums to breathe. At 5 minutes and 17 seconds, it stretches out long enough to build proper momentum. It lands as a welcome instrumental break after the vocal-heavy records that open the album.
These two have been moving through the Durban underground with purpose, and this one shows why. The energy here is direct and functional. It is club music built for the dancefloor, and it does exactly what it sets out to do.
