Yungskid is back with “Okiemute (Remix)”, bringing Mohbad’s verse back into rotation.

The remix landed in late 2023, riding the groundwork of the original single that came a year earlier. Mohbad’s melodic bounce still sits naturally inside the pocket Yungskid built, warm bassline and bright percussion holding the Afrobeats foundation steady. Nothing feels bolted on, the feature slots in like it was always meant to be there.

Yungskid has been quietly stacking releases since, with the 60:22 EP arriving early the following year and Lagos To Capetown following in 2025. His catalogue keeps shifting between singles and projects, but this remix remains one of the more talked-about moments in his run.

The writing here never reaches for drama. Yungskid rides his sections with steady confidence, letting Mohbad’s verse carry its own emotional pull without forcing anything. That restraint is what makes the remix hold up, especially with everything Mohbad’s part now evokes in hindsight.
