Gyakie keeps her 2020 momentum rolling with “Sor Mi Mu,” pairing up with veteran crooner Bisa Kdei on a patient Highlife-Afropop record. The single arrived as part of a steady string of releases that established her as one of Ghana’s most promising new voices.
The track sits in that soft, breezy pocket Gyakie has made her own since breaking through with “Forever.” Bisa Kdei slides in naturally, his lower register answering her airy delivery like a conversation already in progress. The guitar work carries the melody, picked lightly and looping back on itself without ever demanding attention. Percussion taps along underneath, content to support rather than lead.
Gyakie comes from musical stock, being the daughter of Highlife legend Nana Acheampong. She works under Flip The Music and has since signed with Sony Music and RCA Records UK. That lineage shows in how comfortably she moves through this sound. She never oversells the ask, just lets the song settle into a room and wait.
