Nigerian music legend 2Baba and Fave link up on a fresh new record called “Mental.” The track pairs his Afro-pop touch with her soulful modern vocals. Two eras meet in one song.
“Mental” landed on September 18, 2026, produced by DeeYasso. It also arrives as 2Baba marks his 51st birthday. Furthermore, the single sets the table for his forthcoming album, “Oldest Young Man.”
Lyrically, the song deals with love, attraction, commitment and deep affection. Nothing complicated, just feeling. The blend sits between classic Nigerian Afro-pop and contemporary Afrobeats.
2Baba started with Plantashun Boiz before going solo with Face 2 Face in 2004. He runs Hypertek Entertainment and earned a Headies Hall of Fame induction in 2015. Fave, meanwhile, brings that distinctive voice of hers to the pairing.
