Blaqbonez and Tml Vibez link up on a fresh new record called “Finesse You,” blending sharp bars with melody. The Nigerian rapper and songwriter has built a name on witty wordplay and a creative identity that keeps people guessing. Tml Vibez, meanwhile, has drawn listeners in with his smooth melodic sound and his contributions to the contemporary Afrobeats movement. So putting a rapper known for punchlines next to a singer with that kind of range is an interesting mix on paper.
The track lands on Blaqbonez’s album NOMADINHO: 4TH PRIME, released under Chocolate City Music. It runs two minutes and forty seconds, and it also features a guest verse from Asake on another cut, “IKEBE 3000.” Tml Vibez clearly poured emotion into his part too, because fans have been reacting warmly to the collaboration online.
Blaqbonez, born Emeka Akumefule, grew up partly around Yoruba and Urhobo culture. He started writing bars at thirteen, and later signed with Chocolate City. Along the way he dropped projects like Bad Boy Blaq, Sex Over Love, and Young Preacher.
Records like this show how easily rap and Afrobeats keep folding into each other.
