Davido – Biri Marung (Remix) Ft Mar Pilato, DJ Maphorisa, Focalistic &. Scotts Maphuma

DJ Maphorisa, Kabza De Small and Davido link up with Focalistic, Mr Pilato and Scotts Maphuma on “Biri Marung (Remix)”.

The Amapiano cut gets a fresh set of verses from the Nigerian star. Davido slides in over the log drum pattern instead of fighting it. The beat still carries the record, and that was always the point.

Producer credits sit with DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small, the pair behind some of Amapiano’s biggest records. Mr Pilato and Scotts Maphuma return on the remix. Ego Slimflow, Tebogo G Mashego, Sje Konka and CowBoii also appear across different versions of the track.

Davido needs little introduction. Born in Atlanta and raised in Lagos, he built his name through Afrobeats records and later founded Davido Music Worldwide. His catalogue includes Timeless and A Good Time.

What works here is restraint. He does not try to out-sing an Amapiano groove, and the arrangement gives him room to ride the percussion. The lyrics mention Isi Ewu and gbedu, so the energy stays playful throughout.
