Kelvyn Boy closes his 2nd Step project with a record titled “Hallelujah,” a reflective note.
The song lands as the final piece of the project, and it carries a different weight from the tracks before it. Earlier cuts touch on growth, ambition, relationships and personal struggles. This one settles into reflection instead. Kelvyn Boy looks back on his journey and gives thanks for the progress so far.
That is a writing choice as much as a musical one. Rather than chase another upbeat moment, he lets the pen carry the emotion. The 2nd Step album arrives on September 25. It holds twelve tracks, and it opens with “Jehovah” before closing here. The body of work came out through Blakk Arm Entertainment, licensed to Ziiki.
For anyone new to him, Kelvyn Brown hails from Assin Fosu in Ghana’s Central region. He once sang with a band at parties and weddings. Later he signed with Stonebwoy’s Burniton Music Group, then left in 2019. Since then he has built a catalog around “Mea,” “Loko,” “Yawa No Dey,” “Momo” and the hit “Down Flat.” He has also released two albums, TIME and BLACK STAR.
Gratitude records rarely get the loudest reception, yet they often age better than the party cuts around them.
