Minollar links up with producer Dr Dope on a vibrant new single called “Ngifun’uthando.”
The record lands as the second track on her 4-track EP, Let’s Dance. Dr Dope, who hails from the Eastern Cape, handles production duties here. He brings heavy Sgubhu-inspired beats, deep bass, and syncopated percussion into the mix.
The title translates to “I want love” in Zulu/Xhosa. But Minollar does not deliver that message through a slow or melancholic arrangement. Instead, she places the longing over a fast-paced Gqom and Afro-House groove. That contrast is where the song finds its energy.
The hard-hitting instrumental creates a strong backdrop for Minollar’s powerful vocals. Her voice cuts through the arrangement with clarity. There is a clear emotional desire at the centre, but the rhythm keeps the record firmly rooted in the club.
