Skhanga links up with KaMaphanga and Yolokazi on a new Maskandi-inspired record called “Thando lwathola kabi.” The South African artist and producer built the song around acoustic guitar work. Mduduzi Khanyile plays the guitar, while Thabiso Shange co-produces. Nzuzo Ndiyazi also worked on the project as co-executive producer.
The track arrived through Skhanga Entertainment and pairs traditional Zulu sounds with modern production. KaMaphanga and Yolokazi add strong vocal presence throughout. Because the arrangement leans on Maskandi foundations, the song carries an old-meets-new energy that fits Skhanga’s catalogue.
He has been exploring modern Zulu music for a while now. This release follows that same direction. However, the guest vocals give it a different weight. Fans who follow Maskandi will recognise the guitar patterns right away. Yet the production keeps things current.
