Lagos-based music creator Wilcoxx is back with a creative new release titled “Forgiveness Mashup,” a rework of Asake’s record. He handles both the vocals and the arrangement himself. That dual role gives the mashup its character.

Instead of lifting the original and adding a beat, Wilcoxx reshapes the song’s feel. Fans who know Asake’s version get a different way to hear it. The result is a reinterpretation, not a copy.

The release also lands inside a busy stretch for him. “Forgiveness Mashup” follows “Arike Mashup,” his take on Khaid’s record. Before that, he shared “treat u right mashup” and “heaven baby ft Llona.”

His catalog keeps growing too. On Spotify, he carries the album “Nobody Like Zaza” and the EP “Behind Closed Doors.” Another EP, “maza maza (demo 1),” arrived as a single. He also has an unreleased cut with Llona and Burna Boy in the vault.

That output says something about the mashup lane he has built for himself.
