Sykes and Dlala Thukzin link up with Kabza De Small on a fresh record called “Yebo Nkosi.”

The single arrives via Lekelela Entertainment, and it runs six minutes and thirty-four seconds. Sykes leads the vocal while Mthunzi adds a soulful layer underneath. Dlala Thukzin and JNR SA handle most of the electronic foundation, but Kabza De Small pulls the record closer to Amapiano.

The song is performed in Zulu. Also, it takes its time, letting the groove build instead of rushing the idea. That patience suits a track this crowded, because five names on one song can easily turn into noise. Yet nobody here sounds like a guest.

Sykes, real name Ayabonga Zuma, comes from Durban in KwaZulu-Natal. He has worked with Dlala Thukzin before, so this link-up is not new territory for either of them.

So what is the record actually saying? “Yebo Nkosi” carries a devotional weight, which gives the groove something to sit against. The mood stays dance-focused, however the vocal keeps a serious edge throughout.
