DJ 808 and Mavo link up on a fresh new record called “Shenk Me,” the producer’s first outing this year. The track lands under LUNO RECORDS and runs at a dance-ready 112 BPM.
Both names share the credits, so this is a joint effort rather than a straight DJ set with a vocal on top. DJ 808 handles the boards while Mavo brings the artist side. The genre is filed as Amapiano.
For anyone new to DJ 808, the discography already carries weight. He released the EP “808 Rhapsody” in 2024, then followed with “Grand Hustle” the same year. He also appeared on “W For Wetego” alongside Young Jonn and Phyno.
Production is where “Shenk Me” does its work. Amapiano has become a big part of African dance music, and this one leans into that. Rhythmic grooves and electronic touches carry the arrangement, while the tempo keeps things lively without rushing.
