SSSoundGawd links with JeriQ for a new record titled “Ego,” off his debut EP.
The song comes as part of THE WORST, his debut EP, a six-track project that runs about eighteen minutes. Production on “Ego” is handled by Lilgeebeatz, with mixing and mastering credited to other engineers on the tape. JeriQ, Loony Q and a few others also appear across the tracklist.
SSSoundGawd is a Nigerian recording artist, producer and DJ signed to Kilogbede Records, the imprint started and headed by Mavo. He has steadily worked through solo drops and collaborations, and THE WORST packs plenty into its short runtime.
JeriQ brings his own weight here, though. His street-rooted storytelling and Igbo-inflected delivery sit well beside SSSoundGawd’s production instincts.
That pairing is the real pull. Nigerian rap and contemporary sounds keep crossing paths, and records like this show why artists are comfortable sharing space instead of guarding it.
Give “Ego” a spin and tell us what you think in the comments.
