Fola and Davido link up on a fresh new record called “2am In Toronto,” from his upcoming album. The 14-track project, titled “9,” arrives this Friday, and this collaboration sits third on the tracklist.
The record leans on vocal chemistry more than anything else. Fola handles the softer, emotional stretches while Davido brings his usual energy. That contrast carries the song, and the arrangement knows exactly when to pull back.
Fola, born Folarin Odunlami, is a Nigerian singer-songwriter blending Afrobeats with R&B. He broke through with “alone” and signed to Bella Shmurda’s Dangbana Republik. His debut album “Catharsis” landed in 2025, while OkayAfrica named him Artist of the Month.
Sharing a track with Davido places Fola’s voice before a much wider audience. Yet he holds his own beside a heavyweight. If you have followed his recent output, this fits right into that build.
