FOLA drops a brand new single titled “miss u ii (nriri)”, a record built for late nights and quiet reflection. The Nigerian singer and songwriter, born Odunlami Afolarin, keeps things slow here. Longing sits at the centre of the song, and he does not rush past it.
The track arrives via Dangbana Republik Records and EMPIRE, the label home he shares with Bella Shmurda. It follows his Ibadan homecoming show, so the timing carries weight. There is no producer credit listed, but the arrangement speaks for itself.
FOLA broke through with “alone,” a mid-2024 release that changed everything for him. Since then he has built a catalogue that moves between Afro-R&B and Afrobeats. His debut album Catharsis landed in September 2025, and he has worked with the likes of Davido, Mayorkun, and Victony.
The writing here leans into feeling rather than tempo. Afrobeats drums hold the floor while soulful melodies do the heavy lifting. His vocal stays measured, never oversinging the emotion. Instead, he lets the melody breathe and the groove stay grounded underneath it.
