Nigerian Afropop and highlife singer HumbleSmith returns with a warm love record titled “Baby Fire” for easy listening fans. The track lands as the third song on his six-track EP, Mr Melody, which arrived on September 25, 2026. Dalorbeats handled the production, while CJ Obassey contributed guitar work to the session.
“Baby Fire” sits inside a project that also holds “Bolingo” and “Moment.” Those three songs together explore love, culture, movement and reflection. The EP leans into the softer side of his sound rather than hard-edged Afropop.
HumbleSmith, born Ekenedirichukwu Ijemba, hails from Imo State but grew up around Abakaliki. He works under the N-tyze imprint and has moved between Afropop and highlife for years. His catalog includes “Osinachi” and a 2018 Rudeboy collaboration called “Report My Case.”
Love songs have always been a steady part of his catalog, so this lane suits him. Still, the EP shows an artist reshaping that familiar ground instead of repeating it.
