Fake’well and Officixl RSA link up with DJ Tshegu, Ojay, and Mid9t on “Gqobhoze.”
The single arrives on October 9, 2026. It also serves as the lead promotional single for an upcoming joint EP from Fake’well and Officixl RSA. That project, titled Well It’s Officixlly Fake, is slated for an October 23, 2026 pre-release.
Production-wise, “Gqobhoze” leans on deep basslines and Sgija and Bacardi-inspired rhythms. Those are the styles closely associated with both Fake’well and Officixl RSA. The arrangement keeps the groove heavy while leaving room for each featured voice. DJ Tshegu, Ojay, and Mid9t all contribute to the joint release.
For Fake’well, this track reunites him with DJ Tshegu after their previous work on “BRIYANI vs HARVARD.” DJ Tshegu has also been performing “Gqobhoze” out in Uganda, where the song has picked up viral attention. Clips from South Africa have circulated on TikTok too.
Choosing this as the first taste makes sense. It puts the chemistry between Fake’well and Officixl RSA front and centre before the EP lands. The beat does most of the talking here, and that feels deliberate.
